SHOW NOTES:

Having a vision for your campaign is key before you even begin recruiting volunteers. It is about being committed to being greater than oneself.

For smaller races, it is important for volunteers to be connected to your vision.

Be grateful for those that share your vision: appreciate your volunteers.

Volunteers in down ballot races can have a bigger impact.

Give volunteers clear directions, empower them, clarify your vision.

President Donald Trump is a great example of connecting with volunteering. Make America Great Again is an example of a clear vision.

Consider the volunteers concerns.

Avoid having having your volunteers determine your message to the public.

Campaign managers/staff it is the job of the candidate to make sure the vision is filtering throughout the organization.

Make a list of at least 600 people that can donate and volunteer for your campaign before you run.

Treat volunteers with respect, treat them as important.
